Scoring
Each skill gets a score, the reasoning, and the exact words from the interview that earned it. You check the evidence. You make the call.
What you get
For every candidate who finishes, LessRounds writes up the interview the way a careful interviewer would.
From 0 to 100, against the level you expect for the role.
The most relevant line from the transcript, quoted, for every skill.
A few sentences on why the score is what it is.
Three to five moments with timestamps, marked strength, concern or insight.
Answers that were evasive, generic, very short, scripted or off topic.
A short list of what stood out, and what to probe in round two.
Your skills
You choose the skills, the level you expect and how much each one counts. LessRounds can suggest them from your job description.
Pass mark
Set a pass mark per interview. Candidates at or above it wait for your review. The rest are set aside, never contacted, and can be moved back at any time.
| Feature | With a pass mark | Without one |
|---|---|---|
| At or above the line | To review | 80+: to review, as a strong match |
| In the middle | — | 50–79: to review |
| Below the line | Set aside in Rejected | Under 50: set aside in Rejected |
| Candidate told anything? | No. You decide what to say | No. You decide what to say |
| Can you change it? | Any candidate, any time | Any candidate, any time |
Interviews ended early after two conduct warnings are also set aside, whatever the score. The reason is shown on the candidate’s page.
Limits
Being clear about the edges is part of trusting the middle.
The transcript of the interview: what the candidate said, measured against each skill you set and the level you expect. It does not score video, faces, voices or backgrounds.
Each skill is scored from 0 to 100. The overall score is the weighted average, using the weights you gave each skill. Weights are relative, so 30, 30 and 40 work the same as 3, 3 and 4.
LessRounds uses default bands. 80 and above goes to review as a strong match, 50 to 79 goes to review, and below 50 is set aside. Set a pass mark to replace the bands with your own line.
No. Answers to yes/no, multiple-choice and text questions are shown on each candidate’s page for you to read. Only the AI interview is scored.
Yes, and you should when the evidence doesn’t hold up. Move any candidate to shortlisted, on hold, rejected or back to review. The change and who made it are recorded.
Yes. Transcription can miss words, and a short answer can hide a strong candidate. That’s why every score comes with its reasoning and a quote you can check, and why a person makes every decision. See Responsible AI.
